There are more than 500,000 books published every year in the United States alone. That's the problem PickGoodBook exists to solve: too many books, too little time, and no easy way to know which ones are actually worth reading.
This site started in 2012 as a labor of love — a couple of book-and-movie obsessives cataloguing every work of their favorite authors and cross-referencing which books became films. We've rebuilt it for a new decade, but the obsession is the same. We do three things, and we try to do them better than anyone:
Top 10 lists by genre. Not "47 thrillers you might like" — ten books, ranked, with an honest case for each one. If a book makes one of our lists, it earned the spot.
Complete author reading orders. If you've ever wondered where to start with Stephen King's 65+ novels or how the Agatha Christie catalog fits together, our author guides list every book in order — series by series — so you always know what to read next.
The movies books inspired. Read it before you watch it. Our guides connect the books to the films and shows they became, so you can decide which to experience first.
