Jules Verne was an extremely popular French author. His first book, "Martin Paz" in 1852, was published when he was 24. Up to date there are seventy-four books published with the latest being "The Marriage of a Marquis" (1991).
Several of Verne's works were discovered and published for the first time long after his death, so don't be surprised by some of the publication dates. In fact, eleven books were published posthumously. Jules Verne was creating at the average 1.4 works a year and the most republished of his novels is the "Around the World in Eighty Days", which is available in four hundred and sixty-six different ISBNs just in English.
Twenty-six of his books have been turned into two hundred and twenty movies in total. "Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea" is the most adapted novel, counting seventy-one movies and TV-series episodes.
